Proactive Behaviour Support

Positive Behaviours for Learning (PBL)

Positive Behaviours for Learning, known as PBL is an evidence-based whole school systems approach. It aims to create a positive environment for learning where students feel safe and confident and the frequency and severity of problem and challenging behaviours is decreased.  It is a long term change process (3-5 years)

School wide expectations are embedded in our Positive Behaviours for Learning. We have worked together to determine the values of the school and the behaviours which demonstrate will be explicitly taught in every classroom. Through this approach members of our community will share a common language and understanding.

Our PBL is guided by our RISE acronym. Expectations for behaviour in all settings will be based on these 4 values.

  • Respect
  • Independence and responsibility
  • Safety
  • Education
