English

The English curriculum is built around the three interrelated strands of Language, Literature and Literacy from the Australian Curriculum. Together the three strands focus on developing students' knowledge, understanding and skills in listening, reading, viewing, speaking, writing and creating. Learning in English builds on concepts, skills and processes developed in earlier years, and teachers will revisit, strengthen and develop these as needed.  Units are theme based and concentrate on providing students with functional real-life experiences.

Course Description

Students will participate in a unit which explores some of the ways that they can use speech, gesture, writing and media to communicate feelings. They will study how emotions and feelings can be conveyed and influenced by visual representations and by groups to which students belong.
