The Student Centred Appraisal of Need provides a consistent approach in determining the educational needs of individual students so that resources can be allocated to schools on an equitable basis. It is a way of looking at the particular needs of each child and the support they require to access school programs and participate in the curriculum. You will be guided through the process by a trained moderator from the Education and Training Directorate. At the end of your appraisal meeting you will receive a copy of the meeting record form detailing the student profile.

The current schedule allows for seven appraisals throughout the years of schooling; preschool, kindergarten, Years 3, 6, 7, 10 and 11.
